Fundamental Chef Training
Students in the Fundamental Chef Training Program will:
Have an awareness of fundamental sanitation practices in food preparation.
Have an understanding of basic commercial kitchen safety skills.
Have an understanding of basic food preparation techniques, including
breakfast cookery, stocks & basic sauces, soups, cold foods, meat & poultry
preparation, vegetable cookery, potatoes, rice, and pasta techniques, healthy
cooking, ethnic foods, and baking & pastry formulas.
Be aware of immediate food service employment opportunities and future
career options. Participates in FCCLA-HERO Student Organization.

Assistant/Home Health Aide (NA/HHA)
The healthcare Core Curriculum (HCCC) is a series of entry-level courses with an
interest in health care but little or no experience. The student will be introduced to
entry-level concepts containing necessary information for all health care workers,
with emphasis on awareness of client/patient needs and basic skill development.
The Nursing Assistant position is the first step in consideration for a future career
in nursing. This course is a prerequisite for the Practical and Registered Nursing
programs. This is a 96 hour program approved by the Minnesota Department of
Health (MDH). Students completing the course are eligible to take the MDH
Competency test for Nursing Assistants/Home Health Aides. Successful candidates
are placed on the State Nursing Assistant Registry for certification.
