Returning to Learning
October 29, 2020
Dear families and staff,
We are proud of the compliance with our expectations related to public health in the face of this unprecedented pandemic. Students and staff have done everything well to keep school in session. Unfortunately because of the rate of community spread in our member districts, we need to be thoughtful about how we proceed.
Based on community and county level data, we are closely monitoring our case rates and making decisions based on the data. We are working closely with our member districts to ensure that we are aligned in our response. At this point in time, it is important for you to know that ISD 917 is considering a move to a more restrictive model such as distance learning. If this change were to happen, it is our goal to communicate with our families at least one week in advance.
I appreciate the continued support and cooperation of both families and staff. I am grateful for your understanding and flexibility.
I will be communicating with you as these challenging decisions are made.
Warm regards,
Mark A. Zuzek
Superintendent, ISD 917
