DCALS Enrollment Process

HOW: The first step in the enrollment process is to click on the link below and submit the Enrollment Application - DCALS Main (at DCTC). When your application is received, we will contact you to finalize enrollment. Then please click on the link below to complete all enrollment forms. These can be completed and returned by email. 

*If the student has an Individual Education Plan (IEP), the Special Education staff will request records first, and then contact student/parent to schedule a team meeting.

DCALS Independent Study


WHEN: At this time of social distancing, the meetings will be scheduled as phone calls or a virtual meeting online. You will be contacted to schedule an individual meeting.  All Group Enrollment Meetings are cancelled until further notice.
 
WHERE: DCALS is located inside DCTC (1300 145th St. East, Rosemount,MN 55068). Students Services office for DCALS is at the top of the steps in the East Commons. 

If you are interested in enrollment for the 2020/2021 school year, please click the link above and submit the Application for Enrollment to DCALS Main form. Also be sure to click on the link for the Enrollment Form, fill out and submit to be prepared for the final enrollment meeting.

DCALS  Credit Options

Distance Learning: Students have a daily schedule and meet with teachers online for classes Monday through Friday. Students have virtual access to teacher's instruction EVERY DAY. Students DO NOT come to the building unless they have made an appointment with their teacher.

Hybrid Model: Students have a daily schedule and meet with teachers online for classes Monday through Friday. Students have virtual access to teacher's instruction EVERY DAY. Students will come to the building as part of Cohort A or B. Cohort A will attend Monday & Tuesday from 7:40 am to 11:40 am. Cohort B will attend Thursday & Friday from 7:40 am to 11:40 am.

Independent Study (IS): Work is completed independently through a combination of written work and online with a credit recovery program – Odysseyware. Each course is a semester credit upon successful completion. Courses can be modified.

Many paper and pencil options are also available from subject area teachers. Students ask for IS work to supplement a full or modified class schedule. (Any version of IS requires seat time within the building.)

Project Based Learning: Students design and propose projects to teachers. The subject area teacher works with the proposal and credit is awarded upon completion.

Credit Transfer Form   To be used by counselors from students' high school of residence.
