Returning to Learning
October 5, 2020
Dear Families,
A recent positive COVID-19 test result at one of our school sites has heightened my concern for the safety of our students and staff at all school sites. Although this case is confined only to the Alliance Education Center, it is illustrative of what can happen to any program location. Due to this positive case, Alliance Education Center will have NO in-person learning from Monday, October 5 through Friday, October 16.
We know that a similar event could close any of our programs for two weeks of quarantine. It is imperative that all of our programs are managed in a safe manner. Chiefly among these expectations are that if a child or adult has any COVID-19 symptoms, or has been exposed to a person that is either COVID-19 positive or COVID-19 suspect, they must quarantine for 14 days post exposure and be completely asymptomatic prior to returning to school.
I am overwhelmingly proud of the efforts of our staff, our students, and our families. Our intention is to be safe, personal, and emotionally present. Whether we are in a distance learning model, a hybrid, or a face-to-face model, we always strive to connect with both the heart and the mind.
Please know that we strive to do the best we can for our students, our staff, and the districts we serve. I urge you to contact me with any concerns or questions that you may have.
