
Concord Education Center proudly hosted its first annual Academic Showcase and Ice Cream Social, an event designed to celebrate student learning and foster family engagement. The event welcomed 43 attendees, including students, and families, who gathered to appreciate the work and dedication of our students throughout the school year.
Our students have been engaged in year-long academic projects, and the showcase provided them with the opportunity to present their work in a meaningful way. Projects on display included:
Literacy & Social Studies Projects
- Read Around the World – Students read books from different countries, wrote book reviews, and collectively read over 76 books.
- Black History Figures – Research and presentations highlighting influential historical figures.
- Geography & Cultures – Projects showcasing different countries and traditions.

- "The Art of Mr. Burgio's Class" – Featuring shadow work, self-portraits, crayon rubbings, collage, and sculpture.
- Murals – Collaborative student art pieces
- Directed Drawing Books & Writing Journals – Showcasing literacy development
Life Skills & Social Development
- Life skills Work – Displays highlighting students’ progress in real-world applications throughout the school day
This event was a tremendous success, allowing students to take pride in their work while families and staff celebrated their growth and achievements. We look forward to making the Academic Showcase & Ice Cream Social an annual tradition at Concord Education Center!
