Title IX

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) is a federal civil rights law which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in all education programs and activities operated by recipients of federal funds.

Sex discrimination includes sexual harassment, sexual assault, and other sexual misconduct. The District does not discriminate on the basis of sex in the educational programs and activities that it operates, and it is required by Title IX and 34 C.F.R. Part 106 not to discriminate in such a manner.

Intermediate District 917 does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, sex, gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, immigration status, familial or marital status, status with regard to public assistance, and/or age in its programs and activities.
